HANDS-ON - THE DISASSEMBLY SESSION

Engineers like it the practical way. To act and see is better than to listen and read only. You are manufacturing your kind of product day in day out - but have you ever tried it the other way round? Deconstruct it! You should not become a scrap expert, but you get to know your product from a totally new perspective. That's what this disassembly exercise is about, preferably undertaken by a small group from your enterprise. Get the product manager, the designer, maybe someone from the procurement department, the marketing people, and a process engineer involved. You can undertake this as a one-man or one-woman show, but the best results will be achieved form discussions among different experts. Take one of your products and a toolbox or go to a workbench in your workshop.
