Abstract:

Eco-innovating needs considering all aspects concerning the Product Life Cycle and integrating the environmental,
economic and quality aspects into the redesign process. The target is to increase both the competitiveness
and the environmental performance of a product.
ecoSMEs.net is a platform for supporting eco-innovation. It helps small and medium-sized enterprises implement
the Integrated Product Policy, providing information, tools and services for developing and marketing
?green products?.
TESPI, a software tool available at the platform, is aimed at supporting the environmentally conscious
design taking into account the environmental aspects of the product life-cycle, the customers' needs and
the competitors' products. The main goal is prioritising the redesign options based on the relevant ecodesign strategy
and pointing out the components most sensitive to the customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.
Training activities on ecodesign and the use of TESPI can be made directly during
its application to a case study or within one day workshops.
