WHO CAN USE IT?

The training package is dedicated to:
  • Decision makers to get an over-view of the subjects related to EcoDesign and movements in pro-duction of electronic products
  • Research and develop-ment/product designers to get in-sight in the topics and challenges that are relevant to be integrated in product development and de-sign
  • Technicians to get an understand-ing of the legal premises, commu-nication and exchange of data among stakeholders and suppliers, providing the basics for being pro-active regarding EcoDesign

THE TRAINING CONCEPT

The training package contains:
  • Lecture pages containing information on the different subjects related to EcoDesign. In the lecture pages you find 3 components. A short basic text which explains a relevant subject and in some cases supplemented with slides covering the heading for the subject of the page. The subjects are to some extend illustrated with cases and furthermore, a frame with links and references to official sites, original documents, articles, reports etc. for deeper self studies.
  • Slide presentations to be used in internal presentations and discussions with colleagues, suppliers or stakeholders. The slides are provided in a general context and are suitable in most cases, where a presentation is needed. Notes to the slide presentations can be drawn from the lectures pages.

Lecture 7 "Key issues in EcoDesign" contains an additional component - the Self Test. The Self Test consists of a number of checklists. Completing the checklists will help you evaluate your own product in terms of reuse, recycling, disassembly etc. We urge you to take this opportunity to get some hand-on experience with EcoDesign.
The idea with having lecture pages and slides also, is that it can be relevant in many situations to present the EcoDesign topics for colleagues or others, because the EcoDesign track is to a high extend based on networking and co-operation between different competences and sharing of information -internal and external.
