Considering mobile products like mobile phones, laptops or video cameras, switching power supplies are necessary to energize them. Regarding no-load losses and achieved efficiency about 30%, switching power supplies cause an increasing environmental impact considering the ascending commercialization of mobile products. The presentation introduces possibilities and advantages of alternative switching power supplies.
